Davidson brings 26 years of municipal law experience and launches the firm’s new Regulatory & Government Law and Land Use & Zoning practices.
ALPHARETTA, GA, UNITED STATES, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Miles Hansford Law Firm is pleased to announce that David Davidson has joined the firm as a Partner, bringing more than three decades of legal experience and a distinguished career in municipal law, land use, zoning, eminent domain, and government representation.
Widely respected throughout the North Metro Atlanta region, Davidson joins Miles Hansford after more than two decades as City Attorney and Chief Legal Counsel for the City of Roswell, where he has served as principal legal advisor to city leadership and municipal departments. He will continue to serve as Roswell’s City Attorney through the firm.
In that role he has provided strategic counsel on complex matters involving zoning and land use, litigation management, contracts, employment issues, governmental operations, economic development initiatives, and risk management.
“I’ve known David Davidson for many years, both as a colleague and as a friend, and I’ve always had tremendous respect for the way he carries himself and practices law,” said Brian Hansford, Partner at Miles Hansford Law Firm. “David is thoughtful, principled, practical, and someone whose judgment I trust completely. His reputation has been earned over decades — not only through the quality of his work, but through his integrity, sound judgment, and the way he treats people.”
“David’s many years serving as City Attorney for Roswell have given him a depth of experience and a unique understanding of municipal government, land use, development, and the issues that arise at the intersection of government, business, and the community,” Hansford continued. “Just as importantly, he is the kind of person you want sitting beside you when the stakes are high. We are incredibly fortunate to have David as part of our firm. His experience, judgment, and character make our firm better and will be an enormous asset to the clients we serve.”
At Miles Hansford, Davidson’s practice will focus on:
Municipal and Government Representation
Zoning and Land Use
Eminent Domain and Condemnation
Alcoholic Beverage Licensing
Regulatory and Administrative Law
“For over twenty-six years I sat on the government’s side of the table,” said Davidson. “I know how a staff report gets written, I know what a council will and will not approve, and where most applications go wrong. That’s the perspective a business owner or property owner needs when something important is on the agenda.”
Throughout his career, Davidson has valued practical problem-solving, collaborative relationships, and helping organizations navigate complex legal challenges.
Davidson earned his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Auburn University. He has been licensed to practice law in Georgia since 1998.
The addition of Davidson reflects Miles Hansford’s ongoing commitment to attracting exceptional legal talent and expanding the firm’s ability to serve individuals, businesses, governmental entities, and community stakeholders throughout Georgia.
