Two North Carolina nonprofits will receive $10,000 grants and pro bono consulting to advance economic mobility through technology.
CHARLOTTE, NC, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Apparo has announced the 2026 recipients of its Mission Possible Award Program, a nonprofit technology and process improvement grant program in collaboration with Accenture that helps nonprofits leverage innovative technology solutions to advance economic mobility across North Carolina.
Selected from organizations participating in this year’s Mission Possible cohort, one nonprofit from Charlotte and one from the Triangle region will each receive a $10,000 grant and up to $50,000 in additional pro bono consulting support to implement technology-driven solutions that strengthen mission impact and expand opportunities for the communities they serve.
Created by Apparo in response to economic mobility challenges identified in research by economist Raj Chetty, Mission Possible helps nonprofits explore how technology can address barriers to opportunity, improve service delivery, and increase long-term community outcomes. Since expanding to the Triangle region in 2023, this initiative has engaged nonprofits across both regions in developing innovative solutions that improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency while advancing economic mobility.

Through Mission Possible, participating nonprofits work alongside skilled Accenture volunteers who guide them through an intensive ideation and proposal development process. In addition to the award recipients, all participating organizations receive strategic support and a completed technology proposal that can be used to pursue future funding opportunities.
Charlotte Award Winner: Champion House of Care
Champion House of Care was selected for its proposal to implement their first centralized pantry operations and household engagement system, replacing paper forms, disconnected spreadsheets, and manual reporting processes. The technology solution will unify household intake, service tracking, inventory management, and reporting into a single platform, helping Champion House of Care better understand household needs, align food resources with real-time community demand, reduce service gaps, and streamline daily operations. By improving visibility into pantry usage and distribution trends, the organization will be better positioned to strengthen grant reporting, build community partnerships, and connect families with additional support services that promote stability and self-sufficiency.
Triangle Area Award Winner: Gabi’s Workforce
Gabi’s Workforce earned the Triangle Area Mission Possible Award for their Gabi’s Connect initiative, which will expand Zoho One into an integrated Relationship and Workforce Growth System. The platform will connect employer engagement, workforce coordination, donor and volunteer management, communications, scheduling, surveys, and reporting into a unified system. The project will help Gabi’s Workforce scale their mission of creating meaningful employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by strengthening employer partnerships, improving workforce coordination, and enhancing data visibility. The solution will also reduce administrative burdens on staff, allowing more time and resources to be directed toward workforce development, job retention, and long-term economic opportunity for program participants.
